ABOUT
The Hills Recycling Directory provides information on where to recycle those items that can be recycled but do not go in the kerbside bin. * DROP OFF RECYCLING The Directory is specific to the Dandenong Ranges where, being on the outskirts, some drop services don't reach us. It includes some community based recycling that I have set up as well as existing centers, both informal and formal, covering where to recycle your toothbrush to your power tool battery or your cd's or your mattress. As we have such an endless flood of stuff coming into our lives, we have provided tips on how to reduce, reuse and repair. There is a mine of information here, we don't expect anyone to do it all, just chip away at it and know the directory is here to refer to. Hills Recycling is a Hobby and not for profit. I started recycling things for other people about 5 years ago. I had a small Sustainability Stall at Kallista Market where I promoted sustainability , sold hand made shopping bags and produce bags etc. and educated people. I had a Recycle Box firstly just for CFL globes and batteries, it expanded from there. The stall was replaced by a facebook page . I now have permanent drop off point in Kallista store as well as at Recycled Roots and Leaves and others have been inspired to collect .The website site aims to make it easier to recycle locally and to help people reduce the endless stuff and waste coming into our lives, damaging the environment and contributing to Global Warming. .
