Towels,  Bedding, Furs ??

Animal Aid Coldstream.. Towels, blankets  wool jumpers etc  ( no pillows no doonas) They will either be sold in their opshops or used as rags bedding etc for animals.  Secondhand kennels and dog beds accepted and available by donation.  or ask your local Vet

They also accept Laptops,  Cd, Dvd and Video players and cables for recycling, funds go to a vareity of charities

Remote Op Shops

The Remote OpShop Project is a new way to give your pre-loved items purpose by supporting the development of independent locally-owned OpShops in Aboriginal communities throughout remote Australia. Remote Opshops list what items they need to save on sending unneed goods.

 

When travelling in remote communities I  noticed how expensive  and in appropriate (synthetic ) clothing often was.for the climate. This program not only provides clothes at affordable prices but creates a community work. Consider natural based clothing.when donating. .

Bread Tags for Wheels chairs

Yes you can save up your bread tags send or drop off  them for recycling.  and in doing so pay for a disadvantage person in South Africa  to have a wheel chair. MaKe Possum and Joey Pouches and Liners

Got some left over wool, some  100%  cotton fabric, then you can make a possum or Joey Pouch with liners for Wires and Wild Life Victoria ,  click link for instructions.

Here are some I  made from  scraps of wool and a soft cotton  shirt.

Sport shoes 

Lightly worn sports shoes can be donated  to Shoes for Planet Earth  locally at Fit Gym 15 station st Mount Evelyn  to be sent to people in need in Australia, and overseas, eg homeless, shelter crisis centres, indigenous communities orphanages , disaster recovery,  ( no tears, holes and clean please . gold coin donation per pair. )

Save a piano / donate a piano. 

Recycled pianos saves pianos from landfill, either restoring them to  playable condition  or repurposing them into  attractive  items of furniture.  Then  recycling as much as possible that is left They also donate pianos to schools and .accept pianos for rescue from the public.  . 

 " PREPS" is a Programme for Recycled Educational Pianos in Schools" - a joint initiative of Hendry Pianos and Pianos Recycled. This applies the Street Piano idea into school's playgrounds. Following a successful trial at Dandenong West PS, we invite all schools to apply for a working and tuned piano to liven up kid's lunchtimes.

Cars 

Yes you can donate your old car.

​

 Kids under cover accept donations of second-hand cars. They sell the cars at auction and will issue a receipt of the amount recovered as a tax deduction. 

 

Handbrake turn ( Concern Australia)  teach kids how to fix cars, and, cars are then passed on to people in need of second-hand cars or sold to raise funds.  They will pick up the car (via tow truck). They will give you your  plates so you can claim the residual registration.
