BATTERIES Household
Australians use 8 tonnes of batteries a year. Only 6 % are recycled, the rest go to landfill, leach toxins into the environment or just sit corroding away in peoples draws. Warning !! batteries are toxic and hazardous as they can spark and cause a fire. So they should be stored correctly with terminals taped see details on how to store your batteries There are now numerous locations to drop off your batteries, find the best one for you below.
REDUCE
Choose Items( toys, tools etc) that don't use batteries or choose items with solar recharge.
