Australians use 8 tonnes of batteries a year. Only 6 % are recycled, the rest go to landfill, leach toxins into the environment or just sit corroding away in peoples draws EEEKKK !
REDUCE
Choose Items( toys, tools etc) that don't use batteries or choose items with solar recharge.
REUSE
Get a battery charger. Rechargeable batteries have improved enormously and can be recharged 1000 times, that's a HUGE saving for the environment and for you. Yes you can recycle rechargeable batteries too.
