FOOD WASTE 

UPDATE :  The   new Food and Organics and Garden Organics (FOGO) collection is now available to everyone. The FOGO bin (lime green lid) taking garden clippings food scraps including meat and bones all goes to a central composting facility to create compost for farms and gardens.  What-can-I-put-in-each-bin

Australian waste about 30 % of the food they  buy, so its still important to reduce food waste See ideas and links below.  Excess produce , if you are a veggie gardener or just have a lemon tree or maybe you have a business, excess produce can be donated locally to share with others or head off to a Food Swap meet.

Plan meals and use a shopping list. 

Store food in air tight containers

Eat or freeze leftovers,
