Plastic does not biodegrade it just breaks down into smaller and smaller pieces and gets into the marine food chain and our food .

Start by refusing plastic bags at the checkout in all shops.

Use reuseable Bread bags. Bakeries in the hills are happy for you to bring your own bread bag or teatowel
Buy pantry items at Bulk food stores you can even avoid plastic bags at the butcher if you take your own container
choose paper or cardboard packaging over plastic.
