Yes you can even recycle your toothbrush, empty toothpaste tube and empty floss box via the Terracycle Colgate Oral Care Program. There are lots of drop off points in the Hills, see below. We have included ideas on how to reduce and reuse your plastic waste even further
REDUCE
Use up all the toothpaste in the tube. Cut open the tube up the centre or in half. I was amazed at how much more toothpaste was left.

Alternatives to Bamboo toothbrushes. Corn starch toothbrushes require commerical composting to completely compost.

Or a toothbrush with a replaceable head Silver care are available via a Norwex Australia consultant of which there are a number in and around the hills.
Check out the web for recycled plastic Toothbrushes there are more coming on the market for both hand or electric toothbrushes. There are also a number of brands of bamboo heads for electric toothbrushes.

1. Cut off the heads and make seedling markers or a dibbler.
2. Make a rag rug making needle.
3. Cleaning, scrub a fabric stain, the grout, the garlic crusher, clean shoes,
around the taps, your finger nails. whatever .
4. Craft / painting with kids, flick painting
make your own clay tools
5. Pull out the old bristles with pliers
or cut off the head with secateurs ( rubbish bin the head /bristles)
a) add the handle to your green (garden) waste bin.
b) break up with hammer and add to compost
c) cut it up add to the garden mulch.
d) use as kindling
